Launching Tracelight and Announcing our Seed Round

Today, we’re proud to announce our $3.6m seed round, and launch Tracelight to the world.

Tracelight is the leading AI agent for spreadsheet tasks. It is designed to make analysts superhuman.

It works directly in Excel, on any spreadsheet. If a human can understand the spreadsheet, so can Tracelight.

It builds complex models and analysis in chat within minutes, checks your model for errors, formats your sheets at scale, automates workflows, and answers any question with charts and text.

It’s the product I wish I had when I was at McKinsey. We’ve built it alongside household-name customers in finance and consulting. I’m so proud of the Tracelight team, and excited about how far it will go. Grateful also to Chalfen Ventures, Acequia Capital, Inovo.vc, Charlie Songhurst, Suhit Gupta, Andrew Goodman, a16z scout and the many other industry leaders who are backing us in the round.

We have a generational opportunity to lower the cost of high-stakes business analysis. This  will enable entirely new company operating models and markets. Tracelight’s goal is to become the engine of that new world, and this announcement is the first step on that journey.
